What is a Lama?

Lama is a hot rolled flat iron and steel material with a rectangular shape and a perpendicular cross-section with respect to the longitudinal axis. The edges of the steel slats are as sharp as the hot rolling method allows. They are generally used in steel constructions and as support elements of steel structures.

Llama production is between 6-12 m as standard. It can also be produced in special sizes upon request.

What is Steel Lama

A lama is a steel member with a rectangular cross-section. It has more thickness than steel plate. Stainless steel flat bars are hot rolled and feature large thickness, high strength and corrosion resistance. They are used in applications such as bolt and welded joints of steel elements, strengthening the cross-sections of steel profiles and obtaining structural sections by welding them together.

St37 (S235JR), St44 (S275JR), St52 (S355JR), St60 (E335), SAE 1010, SAE 1020, SAE 1030 SAE 1040, etc. Steel grades such as steel grades are the most widely used steel grades produced in the form of steel bars.

Sheets of different types and thicknesses are called lamellae. Llamas are grouped among themselves as follows.

  • Narrow Slabs: Sheets with a thickness ranging between 5 and 60 mm and a width ranging between 10 and 150 mm.
  • Wide Slabs: Sheets with a thickness ranging from 0.1 mm to 5 mm and a width ranging from 151 mm to 1250 mm.
  • Thin Slabs: Sheets with a thickness ranging from 0.1 mm to 5 mm and a width ranging from 12 to 630 mm.

Lama Usage Areas

Slabs are widely used in steel structures, machinery manufacturing and the automotive industry. Other areas of use are as follows;

  • Architectural steel structures,
  • Automotive sector,
  • Connection points,
  • Mechanical carrier bodies,
  • Bodies of machine parts,
  • Defense industry
  • Structural supports,
  • Engine and engine components
  • Food industry and food and beverage service areas
  • Medical device industries
  • Petro-Chemical Industry
