Hot rolled products are passed through pattern rollers or molds to give them aesthetics and durability. In this patterning process, the chemistry of the sheet does not change and the weight does not increase or decrease. As the hot-rolled semi-finished product passes through the patterned molds, one side of the hot-rolled semi-finished product is embossed and has a teardrop pattern, while the other side remains flat. When used, the back part, i.e. the patterned part, remains on the visible side. Teardrop sheet metal is also commercially referred to as teardrop patterned sheet metal or cheetah sheet metal.

Areas where teardrop patterned sheet metal is used;

• The most intensively used areas of teardrop patterned sheets are fire escapes and walkways.
• Teardrop patterned sheets are used in heavy industrial areas, ramps and machines.
• Since teardrop patterned sheets are not too slippery even when they come into contact with water, they are used on wet floors of ships and buildings located on the shore side.
• In the transportation sector, teardrop patterned sheets are used in trucks, ramps, warehouses and stairs.

It is also possible to use teardrop-patterned sheets for decking and exterior cladding as they look decoratively aesthetic.
